#274. Vocations without Associations

Martin Luther King had a dream, which like most dreams, failed to come to fruition. His stated goal was of a nation steeped in equality, universal brotherhood, tranquility, justice for all and character counting more than color of one’s skin:
I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal."

I have a dream that one day even the state of Mississippi, a desert state, sweltering with the heat of injustice and oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice.

What type of balance do they fight for?
I have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.
Judging by the inhabitants of roads/streets named after MLK, the character of one’s color appears to be axiomatic. Justice is a word tossed about to represent only the protected class in America, thanks to the notion of extra-equality that Black people are afforded by the legal system.

Tranquility? The nation is awash in a crime wave deadlier than the waters that poured into New Orleans in 2005 and worse than the one that washed away thousands of lives in the tsunami that struck Asia.

No one speaks for the dead, their lifeless bodies’ nameless casualties of an ongoing war for extra-equality.
Sitting down together at the table of brotherhood? The nation has never been more segregated, with white people fleeing the cities for suburbs or self-segregating in major metropolitan areas to escape the madness.
The United States gives off a mirage of freedom and justice, mere illusions benefiting only the protected class that once lived as veritable outcasts in the world of Pre-Obama America.

That protected class can do no wrong, for admitting that failures are endemic in the Black community would undermine the entire system. All faults must continually lie with white people who persist in keeping Black people from realizing their full potential.

But it’s Black people who have failed unilaterally in helping to realize and achieve the dream that MLK surely must have privately considered a nightmare (a world gone color-blind would invariably be one based on a meritocracy, showing the true inequality that nature has no intention of ending), for they have created separate vocational organizations to work exclusively for their betterment at the expense of other racial groups (a Google search for “Black organizations” returns 27,000,000 hits).

The table of brotherhood is a messy one indeed.

Virtually every vocation has an organization dedicated to those Black people employed in those ranks, striving to help networking opportunities, furthering education opportunities and lobby on their behalf.
From Black Coaches Association to Black Professional Association Charitable Foundation striving to increase educational opportunities and granting to scholarship to Black students, literally tens of thousands (perhaps hundreds of thousands) of groups exist to solely promote the interests of Black people.

Black alumni associations from Predominately White Institutions (PWI) are commonplace, along with Black lawyers associations, Black police and firefighting associations, Black dental associations, Black journalist associations, Black principal’s and teachers organization, Black chemical engineer association, groups that help Black people in government, African American Environmental Association (the Sierra Club is too white and the “green” movement nearly monochromatic), and a whole host of other organization dedicated solely to advancing the cause of one particular at the expense of all others.

King’s vision of tranquility was a wonderful public relations stunt, purchased partially by overzealous Disingenuous White Liberals (DWLs) who have oddly retreated to enclaves to protect their way of life. Black people have preyed upon pervasive white guilt to maximize the benefits available in the entitlement culture to its fullest potential (always asking what comes next) and in the process created whole institutions that work to augment their interest, and their interests alone.

Vocations without associations is included in Stuff Black People Don’t Like, for the idea of a nation dedicated to the proposition ‘all men are created equal’ and fueled by the dream of MLK’s is anathema to interests of Black people. Associations for Black people based on their chosen vocation help create a notion of “us” vs. “them” mentality that showcases merit being replaced by group-think.

This idea has seeped into every facet of Black people’s lives, with associations promoting only Black interests dotting the landscape of professional groups, alumni associations and other areas where Black people decided to network exclusively. Only one group in America is not allowed to gather to actively consider, discuss and promote their interests.

SBPDL,

Isn't a tad bit hypocritical to decry segregation, while at the same time advocating it?

Also, since most black people grow up and live around black people. Wouldn't any professional association formal or otherwise be black by default?

-Black guy

I have never advocated for segregation on this site.

But to answer your same logic, white people should form professional associations primarily with only white people.

Not one group - and please don't say "THE KLAN" Desiree - exists to promote the interests of white people in a given profession and certainly not one of these non-existent groups receives massive funding from corporations or foundation (like many of the professional Black groups).

It's just an observation, Black guy. Take it for its worth.

The point, Black Guy, is that you can self segregate and we can't.

We have to be inclusive and you can be exclusive. Even merit based systems to attend a college or enter a profession that display "disparate impact" are disallowed when too many white people are in a certain field.

"Wouldn't any professional association formal or otherwise be black by default?"

It was at the behest of blacks that the US Constitution was amended to outlaw discrimination and exclusion based on race.

Amazingly, blacks then turn around and discriminate/exclude based on race at every possible opportunity.

But the most incredible part is the lack of black voices willing to stand up and criticize the blatant double standard and hypocrisy.

Pathetic.

SBPDL,

Here are a few black associations that you wouldn't have issues with.

1. Black churches
2. Predominately black schools K-12
3. Black neighborhoods.
4. Black bars and nightclubs

Basically social segregation. Our capitalist system makes total segregation impossible.

"Here are a few black associations that you wouldn't have issues with."

Issues? Are you kidding?? As long as all races can practice it equally, I'm in FAVOR of race-based associations.

Stuff Black People Don't Like said...

Damn...

I had a great comment to your questions that I just deleted on accident.

Best way to summarize.

1. Spending one hour in church is hard enough.

2. Black people don't want to go to all Black schools, which is why in North Carolina Black leaders are worried about a rebirth in Jim Crow because white people want to get rid of forced busing.

I'm against vouchers for reasons this article should illustrate.
http://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/local-beat/Teacher--111665299.html

That school is 60 percent Hispanic, 40 percent white.

http://universitiesandcollegesinnewyork.com/highschool.cfm?ncessch=360008605792

3. Black neighborhoods? Do Black people even want to live in Black neighborhoods?

I've written about the worst neighborhoods in America and common denominator that links them all is a high percentage of Black people.

Look, Prince George's County in Maryland and DeKalb County in Atlanta are two of the top places for Black people, but both are literal hellholes.

High crime rates, horrible schools (despite plenty of money), incredibly high mortgage default rates - see below article from WAPOST - and crumbling infrastructures... do Black people even want to live in "BLACK" neighborhoods?

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/03/16/AR2007031602521.html

4. Any club that dares to have dress codes will invariably risk bad PR from keeping out Black people.

See this hilarious story from Boston, where BLACK ALUMNI from Yale and Harvard gathered together at a bar and were kicked out:

http://jezebel.com/5696308/club-mistakes-black-harvard-crowd-for-local-gangbangers

http://thephoenix.com/Boston/news/112637-velvet-rope-of-prejudice/

In every college town in America, Black guys (sorry for stealing the name) seek out clubs that white people go to because, yes, they primarily seek out white girls.

I've seen this in every major city I've been too (and I've been to them all, because I go out to bars/clubs often), and, being a big fan of college football, I go to college bars a lot still.

Besides, violence at clubs white people frequent is normally confined to a fight over access to the bathroom. Violence at Black clubs? Guns and knives, which lead to dead people.

I have no problem with the four things you mentioned.

It's just one group isn't allowed (BY LAW) to have these types of places to worship, schools, neighborhoods or bars/restaurants.

They try their darndest to use what they think is "logic" He genuinely thinks he "got ya!" But those dam facts keep screwing everything up.

Crime, unwed birf's, violence, drugs, segregation OK only if THEY want it. And on and freaking on...

Blacks are pathetic. We know it; THEY know it. But we have to continue this ridiculous kabuki theater. They have ruined this once great country, all because some of them run fast, and ALL of them scare the crap out of most whites.

SBPDL's greatest and most powerful proof of their worthlessness is the fact that as black numbers increase, crime goes up, and quality of life goes down. No messing with statistics, or calls of "RACISM!!!" will ever change that truth...

Hey! How about a post about blacks, good God-fearing creatures that they are, taking on muslim names? I wonder who's side they are on in this ridiculous "war" against islam?

SBPDL:

"and please don't say "THE KLAN" Desiree"

Well, it is the truth, though. The only people who think about whiteness are white nationalists and other supremacist idiots.

The reason white people don't need a white organization is because whites don't see themselves as 'colored' or as their whiteness being a factor in their lives.

They just live. To set up a group for whites only would be at best, distasteful and at worst, racist.

"In every college town in America, Black guys (sorry for stealing the name) seek out clubs that white people go to because, yes, they primarily seek out white girls."

You know, white guys seem to obsess over this white girl/black guy thing. I rarely see black guys with white girls (outside of the crackheads downtown--you see a lot there). And I live in a very diverse metropolitan city.

It just doesn't happen. Black dudes are not seeking out white women.

They have no asses; black dudes like ass. When they date white girls, it's purely experimental.

If you watch Cheaters and it's a white girl and black guy, he's always cheating with a black woman.

Black people like their own. The only black guys who want white (or light) girls are sports stars and other status seekers.

Even that house negro Clarence Thomas was talking sex with Anita Hill and had black girlfriends. The white wife is a bizarre attempt at upward mobility.

I don't get it; black dudes know they prefer black women...

Basically social segregation. Our capitalist system makes total segregation impossible.

Black Guy is still in libertarian la-la land, I see.

This hasn't been a capitalist country for nearly a century. There are something like 78,000 laws on the books regulating business, including myriad laws dictating that businesses cannot exclude the Negro, even though it would certainly help their bottom line.

There is no data that backs up the fashionable wisdom that "Diversity Is Strength," but there is quite a bit of data that suggests the opposite is true. Businesses who embrace diversity actively hire blacks who are less qualified than other white applicants. This coupled with the reality of IQ differences clearly show that diversity and profit are mutually exclusive. You, Black Guy, benefit both from the laws that mandate your over-employment and a culture that embraces the magical thinking that "Diversity Is Strength," and you pretend that the result is capitalism. If this were truly a capitalist country, you'd probably be laboring in the fields with the Mestizos.

Finally, you continue to harp about segregation being "impossible" because of the nature of capitalism. Segregation is system that from the onset is living on borrowed time; it cannot endure while blacks and whites live in such close proximity. Luckily segregation has few takers these days, as separation is far more logical. You've stated in the past that you believe this to be impossible as well, but of course that's absurd. Whites got along wonderfully without the Negro for many centuries. You're only pushing it because you know all too well that you need us around to maintain 1st world standards and some semblance of an economy. Blacks know, deep down, that they cannot thrive on their own. You have my sympathies.

Black Guy does not want to live in a black neighborhood. Black Guy would not last 5 minutes in a black neighborhood, and he knows it.

If blacks were able to legally create an existence separate from whites, they would fail even more miserably than they already have and be screaming for more handouts (seen the Haiti footage lately?). Everyone knows that the black-owned-businesses are always lower quality and the least successful. Also, blacks are stingy and refuse to pay for advertising to promote their black businesses. They are unwilling to invest in nice buildings and a talented workforce. Have you ever tried to sell media advertising to a black business? They don't believe in it and always want to keep all profits for themselves.

Blacks in my town have totally trashed the historic districts, and blame the actual neighborhood for their pitiful existence. As if the buildings and sidewalks are racist. The lack of whites have allowed this black pathology to destroy what was once a beautiful and wonderful place for families. Now it is a shit hole, like all black neighborhoods.

What were once brilliant examples of architecture, genuine Arts and Crafts and Colonial Style homes, have been turned into heaps of debris by the poor blacks. Any club or business that is frequented by blacks will close soon after the loitering and violence begins. Blacks do not have the smarts, group cohesion, common goal, good credit and financial capital, ability to work together, or the experience to run anything successful, INCLUDING black churches. This is why blacks form Black associations - the black version of anything is always only a dumbed-down low quality version.

We shall overcome someday, just not today, right?

What a joke!

Like SBDPL, I too travel far and often. This week in Negro Mecca (aka DC), I was vividly reminded of how pitiful an intelligent negro is. They are smart enough to function in civilized society and most eschew contact with the far more common average nigger. They are smart enough to know their race is an abject genetic disaster and they personally are anomalies. They wonder how they differed so greatly from the common nigger and fear their offspring will be common niggers.

I could go on, but anyone who gives this some thought will see how psychologically messed up and pitiable the rare Magic Negro really is.

And while I care nothing for the fate of the common nigger, I do feel some compassion for the exceedingly rare negro with human intellect (ie Thomas Sowell or Walter Williams to name two). What do we do with them?

SBPDL,

"2. Black people don't want to go to all Black schools, which is why in North Carolina Black leaders are worried about a rebirth in Jim Crow because white people want to get rid of forced busing."

What you mean is the black "elite" and the establishment approved "black leaders" don't want their children to go to black schools. Black schools are simply a creation of a history of residential segregation both De Jure and De Facto. I'm not complaining about it I'm just stating fact.

http://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/local-beat/Teacher--111665299.html

It's a sad story, but it has nothing to do with the merits of vouchers.

Government run education fosters this prison like environment were private schools do not.

Most black people will grow up and live in predominately black communities whether they like it or not.

Also the black community is a segregated version of the larger community.

Take the black section of the Los Angeles area. Just like the city at large it to is divided economically. Even the famed MLK blvd goes through various communities. It begins in a middle class black community and ends in a poor Hispanic neighborhood.

I've been to black clubs and bars almost exclusively. Some have dress codes and some do not. Neither obviously had any designs on keeping blacks out since they're predominately black establishments.

In my experience the bars that have dress codes seem to cater to younger crowds 18-21. So, I think it's more of a maturity issue than race. Since I rarely patronize white or even "mixed" race clubs I will have to concede on that one.

"In every college town in America, Black guys (sorry for stealing the name) seek out clubs that white people go to because, yes, they primarily seek out white girls."

This really breaks down the issue of black people patronizing predominately white bars and clubs. I prefer black women mainly for practical reasons and due to the fact they are my only points of reference . As a black man due to how society is structured we have the pick of the litter. That concept goes for all races since people largely stick to their own kind.

However, some black people have come to take advantage of the "Token effect".

A black dude that is a total social reject in his own community becomes Mandingo Warrior in a college bar or club. This works just the opposite in lets say a biker bar.

Black people laugh at tokens, white people "tolerate" them begrudgingly. If you look at them in the light I've described you will hate them.
There are clubs and bars with all types of clientele. From upscale to down right insane. Every white club isn't full of cute college kids and every black club isn't full of gangsters. Except Boston, Mass. LOL!!

"It's just one group isn't allowed (BY LAW) to have these types of places to worship, schools, neighborhoods or bars/restaurants."

The key word here is BY LAW meaning the government can't support segregation and discrimination. In that sense no group is "allowed" to do any of the things listed.

That being said there are separate places of worship, schools, neighborhoods, bars, clubs, and restaurants. How ironic! I have no problem with that because that's how I grew up. I'm just stating fact.

So, you can't call the police on me for sitting down at the lunch counter for a cup of coffee and a danish, but you can treat me like shit so I would stay away on my own

Silent Running,

I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree on whether or not the entire Capitalist system was brought down by some obscure amendment to the U.S. constitution enacted in 1913.

This "Diversity is strength" garbage is pc bullshit that has nothing to do with business or Capitalism. I never implied it did. Capitalism is only about making money, and it doesn't care who is hurt or benefits. That's why there are descendants of slaves who are millionaires and descendants of slave masters having problems paying their utility bills.

As far as segregation or separation goes not only is it possible it's happening right now. What's impossible is total segregation. No business owner in his or her right mind would sacrifice revenue and profit to satisfy anyone's feelings.

Your crazy thought process is just as silly as that "recycling black dollars" movement. It also can not work in this Capitalist nation.

What you are suggesting is that people regardless of ability, aptitude, education, or personal wealth pool all of their resources with the multitude of millions of poor people. I think that is socialism.

Blacks are pathetic. We know it; THEY know it. But we have to continue this ridiculous kabuki theater.

There’s a very good reason for this. Much like the well-heeled women who knows that her husband is a serial philanderer but nevertheless tolerates it because she doesn’t want to upset her financial and social standing, she admonishes her husband to “be VERY discreet”, because “if anyone finds out about it, they’ll tell me and then I’ll be obligated to actually DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT”.
Of course everyone knows (ESPECIALLY blacks) that they’re absolutely pathetic. We dare not bring it out into the open, though, because then we’d actually have to DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT, now wouldn’t we?

Black Guy says: "I fail to see what service problems at a particular establishment have to do with 99% of what I mentioned in my post."

Mencken responds:

Dear Black Guy: I wasn't addressing 100% of what you mentioned in your post. I didn't see that 100% of it was worth addressing, really.

Black Guy says: "I've been to Denny's many times and received great service before, during, and after the rash of lawsuits."

Dear Black Guy: But what are we to infer, then, because you personally have received great service at Denny's? That *all* black people are happy with the service they receive at Denny's?

Are we to infer that because you personally received good service at Denny's that the restaurant was in error paying out $55 million?

Can we infer that because you personally received good service at Denny's that Denny's just wasted trainloads of its money to start a racial sensitivity program for its employees?

Should we infer that because you personally visit Denny's and get good service that Denny's need not have gone out of their way to feature blacks in their advertising to the point of even ponying up for celebrities George and Weezy Jefferson to shill for them?

The point is this, and white people know this, and the Denny's settlement is just one proof of it: If Mr. Whitey Businessman doesn't want the hassle and aggravation of serving blacks in his establishment, well, that's just tough, Mr. Businessman; you can hold your nose and serve them anyway because federal law says you will or else be sued by your own government. (With the added indignity of Whitey B.'s own tax dollars paying the salaries of the lawyers suing him.)

And, further, if, Mr. Whitey Businessman thinks he can create a climate hostile to blacks so that they won't patronize his establishment -- which you blithely posit that any business can do and what it was alleged that Denny's did -- he's liable to be sued for discrimination.

Treat you like shit so you'll stay away on your own? Sure. Listen close and you may hear that businessman whistling Dixie while he tries that tactic on you.

I've been proposing this for years:

Since every instance of contact - even groveling - reeks and results in cries of racism; since no matter what is, has been, or will be done, to attempt to satisfy blacks, will ever be enough; since whites are damned if we do, and damned if we don't...let's stop all possible contact with blacks. Ignore them a much as possible. Be polite, but have nothing to do with them unless you have to (repairman, sales clerk, waiter, cop, etc). Smile, etc. But nothing more. Avoid shopping at businesses they own or at which they work. Ignore, ignore, ignore. No more going to Denzel or Will Smif movies; write to them and tell them that you will do no more shopping with companies that make insulting commercials depicting whites as jackasses. Etc.

Blacks are wonderful, fuzzy, little victims? Fine. Try doing anything without us.

I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree on whether or not the entire Capitalist system was brought down by some obscure amendment to the U.S. constitution enacted in 1913.

I guess you don't need to know this country's economic history to be a "capitalist." Few great changes happen overnight; most advance by increments. That "obscure" amendment was the beginning of the end of American capitalism, but I suppose I shouldn't expect someone who views the current government-run scheme as a viable free market to get that.

This "Diversity is strength" garbage is pc bullshit that has nothing to do with business or Capitalism. I never implied it did.

But it is a major part of modern business; companies are beholden to it and government enforces it. Yet you identify such a scheme as capitalism when obviously it is antithetical to capitalism. That was my point.

What's impossible is total segregation. No business owner in his or her right mind would sacrifice revenue and profit to satisfy anyone's feelings.

I think I've mentioned more than once on this site that these great changes will be made possible only after the coming economic collapse. When that arrives it won't be a matter of making sacrifices for anyone's feelings; it will be about white people ensuring their own survival. And it will quickly become apparent that the Negro is an impediment in that area.

Separation means exactly that: the total separation of blacks and whites into two different states. In the long run, this will be good for business, since blacks are far more of a liability than an asset (as Mencken illustrated). You've yet to address this point, other than to dismiss it as impossible. Since blacks and whites have been separate for most of our respective histories, obviously it is possible. And necessary.

The rest of your post is a bizarre non sequitur. You make it sound as though blacks are some sort of economic powerhouse that whites can't afford to live without. They are not.

-Black Guy said: Mencken, Wow! You went into an insane rant over a class action lawsuit that was settled 16 years ago.

Dear Black Guy: Let's recap. You said, in essence, that if whites don't want to do business with blacks then all they, whites, have to do is treat them, blacks, like shit and they won't come back to that business.

And I responded with an example of what happens to white businessmen if they try this tactic of yours. How long ago it happened makes no difference; indeed, it still holds true nearly two decades later: the businessman exercises this tactic of yours at his own peril and at the peril of his business.

Your rebuttals are the stock in trade of the black "intellectual"; that is to say, change the subject; say instead that 99% of the post didn't address what you said; try to make light and say, wow, that was an insane rant.

But rebutt by providing examples of businesses that employ this tactic of yours? Of course not. You don't because you can't. That's not the black man's way.

Just tell us all which businesses are employing this brilliant advice of yours. Hell, just tell us one. I'm sure we'll all be beating the doors down to do business there tomorrow.
